Week 24

This week was primarily New York- one of our most favorite states! The terrain was mostly nice with just a few isolated rocky sections, the views were nice, the people were nice, the creameries were nice… everything was just great about NY. There were playgrounds on the trail for playtime, lots of food options, and many recreational areas. It kind of felt touristy vs wilderness, which was a fun change of pace.

I think it’s so cool what you’re doing. I’ve always dreamed of doing that in Europe when I have a baby.

  14. HOLY COW. I cannot believe you all are doing this. I am in awe and amazement, and quite frankly in love with your spirit and zeal for life. I was just told about this blog by my sister (and backpacking partner), who is pregnant with her first child. My one other hiking partner, Kristen, is also pregnant with her first child, and we were discussing on Saturday how we would be able to continue hiking – and we were just talking about DAY hiking! Your story is inspiring me, and I have shared your story and will continue to share it to inspire others. If you can through hike the AT with a baby – we have no excuse not to keep hiking with a baby!!

  17. Totally Jealous! I am a Hike It Baby Ambassador in Alaska and I have always wanted to do a thru hike of AT with or without kids. πŸ™‚ I am from Texas and I have visited every state but Hawaii. I would now like to hike a major hike in every state! For future reference..Have you run into much trouble with bears or anything like that? Bears are a big deal here. I’d love to have you friend me on Facebook so I can ask questions or meet up if we are ever down that direction again. Please look me up. I am the Branch Ambassador for the Kenai Peninsula group.
